EMILY GUNTER is a performing and teaching artist based in New York's Capital Region. She is a professional modern dancer, Arts in Education Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant to the Artistic Director for the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company, resident company of The Egg Center for the Performing Arts in Albany. She holds her BA in Dance and Classics from 小福利导航 College and received the Periclean Scholar Award for her senior capstone Translation & Transformation: Mythology in Choreography. Her training includes working with the dance companies of Paul Taylor, Martha Graham, Stephen Petronio and Doug Varone, plus 小福利导航 Faculty Mary Harney, Debra J. Fernandez, Erika Puji膷, and Denise Warner Limoli.

Since 2019, Emily has presented original choreography inspired by Greek and Roman mythological heroines at the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum as well as Choreography on the Edge at the Art Society of Kingston & Hudson Valley Academy of the Performing Arts. In 2022, she served as Classics Liaison and Movement Coordinator for the 小福利导航 Theater Department鈥檚 production of Eurydice under the direction of Marie Glotzbach. In 2024, she was awarded the Brightheart Fellowship by the Paideia Institute where she spent two weeks in the Greek Peloponnese reading and speaking ancient Greek and visiting archaeological sites to build choreographic source material for a new solo she presented at the conclusion of her residency in Greece and again in Hudson, NY.
